I really like the idea of blue...brown and blue look so great together. However, in order to make the front door stand out I would go several shades lighter than dark blue otherwise it might blend in too much with the house. A browny red would be another way to go and would make the door "pop" from the rest of the house. Let us know what you decide.

On my screen, your house looks distinctly red-brown - that reddish stain many people use for deck stain. With the red-brown body, I just can't envision blue "going". I'd do a khaki door - with brown trim and seasonal wreaths, it will really pull people in.

Squint and pretend this isn't a formal Georgian entrance lol See how the khaki stands out against the dark brick?

happymrsh. you are right, the stain that was used, before we bought the house was the redwood olympic stain. I love the squint at the door comment. Hadn't thought of a khaki color. If anyone has photo shop and could put the khaki door on that would be great. brother in law has program and left for a weeks vacation. How dare he when we are trying to decide these things.

I hung a brick red sheet up and like the looks of that. hmmmm
another possibility!!
