Another first CL find

I've been wanting another piece of furniture for my dining room. I found this on CL and loved it. It's in really good condition considering its age, only one spot of missing veneer and a few scratches on the legs. I saw one (although I'm sure in pristine condition) from the same manufacturer listed on Ebay for almost 10X what I paid for this. I live in SoCal, and nice vintage wood furniture is sometimes hard to find. The people who sold it had brought it out from back east, and it belonged to her mother.

Thank you all for letting me share. Not all of my friends appreciate a good "find" or used furniture. I really enjoy seeing all the stuff everyone else has discovered too.

lov_mkitchen, you could stop by when I'm gone, but I don't think you could get it out of my house before I got back. It's HEAVY!!! : )

That's a very nice piece.!!

I have a couple antique tables i've been thinking about putting on CL,as i' m trying to weed out some of my stuff,as i know the kids don't want any of the antiques when i'm gone,and i' not getting any younger.

How many strong men would I have to bring with me!!
I'm going to keep all my stuff. I've told my kids that's their inheritance. Maybe they will appreciate real wood and craftsmanship by the time they get it.

What is the panel below the center drawer? Is that reeded? Ive not seen that before.

mtnrdredux: Yes, it's reeded. I saw pictures of a couple that had small metal knobs in the center, like it was a tambour that opened sideways, but it's really a bottom drawer. The finger pulls are underneath the curved piece above the reeding. Mine didn't have any holes drilled for knobs.

Below is the link for the one I found on Ebay in NJ. It's got more spectacular graining and a much higher gloss, but it's by the same company. You can see the reeding on the drawer if you scroll down through the pictures.

Simply gorgeous! From time to time I see buffets/sideboards with that wood and shape and I drool. Yours is very beautiful with the stunning wood on the doors and the beautiful pulls. What a great find.
