Armoire in the bathroom

| I know this has been done before, but does anyone have pictures of an armoire in a bathroom with a claw foot tub? I can just imagine linens and perfumes, sachets, etc. If I had a big enough bathroom, I would have one already, but I'll have to wait for the remodel :)
I've mentioned this on other posts, but I love the cover of BHG's Beautiful Baths and I'm thinking of that type of look, but maybe with one chandelier (not three) and one set of curtains, but you get the idea. (LOL) |

| I have one . It was made for me using a set of antique windows that I had left after the cabs in the kitchen were made and used the other 3 sets. It has wavy glass in it. Holds everything for the bath. The clawfoot is a salvage find from the same place that I got the windows and the rest of my salvage. Look forward to seeing Jane's pics...hope this gives you ideas. c (I must have been leaing LOL )

| Trailrunner- What a great armoire and so creative. I'm always impressed when people can take something that is "left over" and make something so pretty and practical :) |

| TR- That is a beautiful piece of furniture. I am amazed that you designed it around salvaged windows. It looks right at home with your claw foot. |

| Thank you lavender and paintchips. I saw the idea in a magazine and then when I had more windows than I could use in the kitchen I had my cab guy look at the pic I had saved from the mag. and make it according to the wall size in the master bath. It holds a lot !! Most of the bottom is empty. Hope you get some great ideas. c |

| I found a nice article on "Furnishing the Linen Closet" under www.victoriana.com/Victorian-Decorating/linencloset.php It shows all the beautiful things to put into the armoire, once you have it :) Except for Trailrunner, she has a wonderful armoire already! Igloochic- I thought of you when I read this article, with your many claw foot tubs. (LOL) |

| Does anyone else have pictures of armoires that would work well in a bath? I'm trying to get some ideas and pictures always help. It's fine if they're overflowing with linens :) Seriously, a smaller armoire would fit my space better, but I'm open to any suggestions. |

| Well, here's a teeny-weeny "armoire-lette" - it was only about 18" wide - in a bathroom with a clawfoot tub. (This is my previous house.) Not great pictures but best I can do.
My current house, although built in 1900, has a horrible, ugly, cheap plastic-and-fiberboard bathroom that I absolutely loathe. |

| I have a primitive "jelly cabinet" with the little heart cut-outs with chicken wire behind the cutouts. You could call it a small armoire. I will be gutting and redoing my bath next year - it is a mess. I really need something like that for extra storage and it sure holds a lot. I may try to de-primitive it by having someone cut the hearts into squares, and paint it black or white, depending on the direction I go in. If I had a large bathroom, I would definitely use a large armoire for storage. CL is full of them at really good prices. Many are beautiful wood and could be used as is or could be painted. You are just so limited for storage in a vanity. An armoire would be a great place for towels, toiletries, extra supplies, hair dryers, etc. I have seen some beautiful Ethan Allen, Hooker, etc listed. With a little work you could even install some glass in them. Tuesday |

| Johnmari- Great bathroom, I love the dog pictures. Your armoire-lette is great for a small space! Tuesday- Your jelly cabinet is another great idea. Ethan Allen makes some great armoires, but pretty expensive, maybe I can find one of those on CL :) |

Justgotabme has one that's merchandised (in Christopher Lowell's terms) beautifully. It was an old cabinet she reworked. I tried to find a picture but with the search feature not working, I couldn't. Maybe she'll see this and post a picture. Dee |
