Have you considered, or tried, a square rug? Looks like a 7' square would fit.

I would love to see a foyer rug with a little blue in it to tie in that gorgeous blue paint in the room on the left. Is that Hale Navy by any chance? And I agree with annz about trying a square. The round and the colors in it are not doing it for me. Sorry.

I think it looks fine-- the fact that it has pattern gives it more weight even though it's smaller than your original.

BUT, if you can return without penalty, then I would also suggest a square.

I'm biased because I have a large round rug in the back of the LR, so I like the one you have in the foyer. It's different. I think the size is fine because you don't want to hide the wood floor completely with a larger, square rug.
