Hi.
I have a fairly large (for us) family room which is open to the kitchen. White cabinets, honed-black counters, dark hardwood, stainless, used aged brick (no red in it). I have at this point white dove trim and dove wing walls. very pale, in both the kitchen and the family room which is vaulted with very dark beams.
My question is: there are 2 long hallways of which one is visible from the opening from the family room/kitchen. There is a chair rail and at this time really yucky beige upper wall reddish stained chair rail and a putrid green lower wall. Am thinking of keeping the grays that match the dove wing and do 2 different colors and paint chair rail too, unless I just keep the stain and make it very dark? my thoughts are to put the dove wing on upper and a darker color on bottom and do the white dove trim........or??? I am not fond of too greeny undertoned greys.
My colors in house are black, cremes, burgundies, pinks, maybe a bit of blue. What colors would look nice if you see it from the family room? I may also use this darker color in just my kitchen eventually too, so I loved it to be one for there too. I also have not chosen a color for the living room which is also seen through the family room...should I also keep it in the same colors. I am just not as into really dark these day and the living room especially is already dark from little sun.

Any good color combination for me. The only fan deck I have is Porter paint here in st. louis.

I'm sorry, but I'm really a visual person. Is there any way you can post some pictures of your house.
