Blinds for French Doors

Hi all,
I could use some help with window coverings for some french doors. I've attached a pic, the drapes are pottery barn emery drapes in oatmeal color. I'm looking for something to help blackout the room like the drapes.
What style would look best? Roman Shades, shutters, honeycomb, or fabric? Can I even get honeycomb that will fit behind the door handle? I tried getting a sample of 3/4th inch single cell from blinds.com but they are much thicker than an inch.
