Roman shade cleats

This should probably be simple but I am putting roman shades in my windows and I'm not sure where to put the cord cleats. I started on the front middle part of my window frame but the cord pulls the shade at the top so that it doesn't lay nicely. I have mounted the shades inside the frame.

You can mount them on the inside of the window if it doesn't interfere with the window or the shade opertion. Otherwise, mount it to the outside of the window frame...the cord will show when the cleat is in use.

Candeelyn, I hate mounting those on my own trim so if the strings are bothering me, I stick the string in the folds behind the shade.
