That is such a dreary gray. If you don't already have Seasonal Affective Disorder, you would after painting your rooms Aluminum in November.

Yuck...looks like a great color for a prison.

Annie and awm03, did you look through all the photos? I thought there were several very pretty shades of gray, tending from very light blue- and green-gray to brownish grays. I would not paint anything that Pantone shade.

My library is painted BM Taos Taupe which is similar. It looks beautiful with crisp whites and rich woods. I have a blue velvet sofa in there and it is gorgeous. I love the color.

Color of the month from TOH? Is anyone else here sad with the direction that TOH has gone in, trendy and cheap vs. quality renovations and real lessons on craftsmanship? Sorry to deviate away from the decor side, the color is fine for the right person and place.

LOL, I think it's becoming a trend now for everyone to start naming Color of the month or year. So which of these "colors" is the color of the year?

While I'm fond of grey, this one is a little too depressing for to use for large surfaces in a room.

But I do like Robert Allen's Color of the year which they are calling Calypso Blue - I can see this as a nice accent wall color or in accessories.

Benjamin Moore announced their 2015 Color of the Year is Guilford Green HC-116 which I find insipid but could make for a nice bland wall color that is easy to live with.

And Coral Reef (SW 6606) is Sherwin-Williams Color of the Year 2015 - a pretty color.

I don't really get it: There are so many colors lumped together all under "aluminum" ranging from a very light blueish gray to an almost mocca brown.

@nosoccermom -- I agree the photos don't seem to align with the shade of "Aluminum".

Full disclosure -- I have lots of taupy grey and taupey browns in my home, and I think I have that color in some parts of my home. And, I considered BM Guildford Green for the kitchen! California sunshine helps counterbalance any gloominess.

I may have to find some place to use SW's Coral Reef; I love that color!
