I think it looks perfect. I prefer longer steps myself, and like the fact that the second step extends into seating the length of the pool. Did you consider putting steps in the same configuration at the other end as well?

Just remember that Neutra's concepts would not have been frozen in time. They would have evolved with new materials and technology.

Possibly consider simplifying the design of the spa and pool where they meet.

kswl, that makes me feel better! I think people will only enter from the side where the steps are as that is where the doors of the house are. The other side is away from the house. I dont think anyone would use the steps if I put them down there.

Beverly27, that is very helpful. We are going to wrap the spa in smooth sand blasted concrete to match the coping. Is that what you mean?

I wonder if I should have left a little cut out for the steps? I think it is too late now, but it might not be. Should I ask the pool ctr? I think we were going for a simple rectangle.

Nope I meant simplify the design, ..............though I can see the stair location could be a problem if you're doing laps.

Thanks Beverly. Your design looks much better. Unfortunately, I cant move the spa. I already asked and it would be cost prohibitive - upwards of 20k. :(

I like the steps how you have designed them, but I am worried they would interfere with laps.
