I'm not weedyacres but from her info it looks like she bought 5'' wide individual boards. We used 5'' tongue and groove on our fireplace and purchased them at Lumber Liquidators. The quality was better than Lowe's or HD and they let us pick out the boards.

Corgimom, I just called the Lumber Liquidators closest to me, and they only carry flooring. I first asked if they had any 5" tongue and groove lumber, and the guy asked if I wanted hardwood and I said that was fine. Then he said it was flooring.

Was yours flooring?

Yes. But we put it on the wall and it looks just like the stuff at HD or Lowe's. The difference was that we could buy individual pieces and we could select them. At my HD they were sold in packs of 5 and looked a little rougher. We cut them down to 3' height, primed and painted them and nailed them up above the fireplace mantel to cover the brick. I will try to get a photo later if you would like to see it.
