More suggetions needed

This bathroom is being completely gutted. However, the new cherry cabinets will be in the same configuration, two 24" cabinets with an 18" drawer stack between. The original plan was to do away with the wall to wall mirror and the louvered medicine cabinets on the walls and to install larger, framed mirrored medicine cabinets over the sinks. I just did this mock up and realized the sinks, when centered over the cabinets, do not lend themselves to separate mirrors above. The distance between the mirrors will be too wide for that wall span and out of proportion. The new rectangular undermount sinks could theoretically each be moved a few inches toward the middle but then they would be off center with the cabinets - not sure how that would look. Should I just leave the big mirror or perhaps a slightly smaller, framed mirror but one that would still span from sink to sink? I can still just replace the ugly medicine cabinets with something fresher looking. Suggestions please.

If the mirror is still going to be wall-to-wall and backsplash-to-ceiling I would leave it. I think the fully-surrounded "alcove" installation is a pretty classic way to do a frameless mirror.

I am not the biggest fan of a big frameless mirror floating in space on the wall but I like them a lot in the type of situation you have.

Maybe you could get cabinets that fully recess and have plain doors that can be painted wall color, or very tall ones the same height as the central mirror with mirrored doors. They make tall mirrored cabinets but I don't know if that tall.

We had a similar set up and went with a center stack. Even though the shelves are very narrow, they are incredibly useful. On the lower part of the stack we put an outlet and an "appliance garage" door where we put our electric toothbrushes and other shared devices. It has worked really well for us.

We have a setup similar to Annie's but it does not rest on the counter...it is about a foot off the counter and maybe 6" deep like a typical medicine cabinet. On each side of the sink is a framed mirror. The medicine chest, mirror frames, and vanity are all the same wood.

Hmmm, good suggestions. I had just about decided to keep the big mirror when I realized the new cabinets will be 1 1/2" taller so the mirror will have to be removed anyway. It could be cut down but that is only assuming it didn't break during the removal. This house was built as a vacation cottage and the original construction was fast and cheap so the mirror is glued on the wall. Removing it will be a bear for the GC and it will destroy the wall board behind it. Aggghhhhh, I was ready to order everything this week now it is back to the drawing board.
