I think #1 is prettier, but I think the entire arrangement might be a bit large.

I prefer #1. I like the lighter color which shows off the other parts of the centerpiece.

Thanks everyone, looks like it's about half and half. I have blue and white plates for spring and I am making drapes for spring/summer. I also have red for Christmas.

There is room for glasses. This is my breakfast area. I wish I would have known more about space planning when we built this house 25 years ago. I would have made this area at least two feet wider to house a larger table.
