I got mine at Walmart. They have different colors, and they're fairly cheap. We were amazed at how much darker it was, day or night, and how much cooler it was in the summer!!! It was amazing how much it helped to pull those curtains in the daytime in summer to keep the room cooler, and dark enough to sleep in! I think a nice gauzy or sheer or lacy valance looped around above the curtain is nice, jazzes it up a bit. You could, if you have time/energy with baby, and the talent, buy the backing thermal fabric (think I saw it at Joann Fabrics, undoubtably its online) and pick a nice fabric for the front, zip around the edges with a sewing machine, and hang it!
I just love them, totally makes all the difference in the world.

Look for thermal shades. You can hang decorative curtains over them and change the décor when you want, but keep the thermal barrier forever if they are neutral. I had quilted shades that moved in attached side tracks in a cold climate 30 years ago. Very expensive, but very efficient. I do not remember the name of the company, unfortunately. edited to add: this may have been the brand I had.
