Money Table

Remember the penny floor someone posted a while back?
well, I made a money table...
This was a table that I got from my Dad, I ruined it
(water damage) with a plant...Cliff sanded it down
and covered it with leather.

after it was covered in leather

Then I painted it copper and didn't like it...then I painted
it gold (even the top) and loved it.

gluing down the pennies...the coin in the middle is Queen
Elizabeth that Cliff bought back from England in 1997.

This is it with the third coat, it will take until tomorrow to completly dry clear, but here it is so far.
You'll notice that I pulled some pennies out and added some
dimes to kick it up a notch.
I love this special little table.

Here it is at command central

Cute little table which is now a one-of-a-kind! Very nice. What finish did you use on it?

Thanks Ladies! Yep, they all face the same way. :)
My 4 yr old grandson helped me; he coiled it
'the money table' :)

Lucky gal, I glued the pennies on with Elmers glue
a little section at a time.
After 24 hours, I began to seal it with water based
clear poly. I gave it three coats.
First coat took about 8 hours to dry,
second coat I let dry 24 hours before applying third coat.
I was originally
planning on grouting it... but, liked the way the gold
came through all around the coins, so I skipped the
grout and just used the poly.
