If your summers are hot, the lighter color the better, as that helps keep the indoors cooler than a dark color.

I love navy shingles with light blue paint.

I'd offer to pay the extra and have either cedar shakes put on or aluminum roofing, i.e.: higher quality roofing, since the seller is paying for asphalt roofing. Pitch in the difference, and get a great roof.

Thank you everyone----the vinyl siding is staying. The navy intrigues me :) I don't like the look of cedar or aluminum :/

Since you are on a wooded lot, I'd go with a light gray, similar to the lighter color on the tree trunk on the right of your pick. It will look more natural in your setting.

If the house is staying the same color (light blue or gray?), I would go with a gray, probably in the mid range.

Another vote for gray...medium to light.

Yes agree with the existing colors I vote for a mid range grayish.
I don't like the patch work look of 2 different colors on the same roof.
I would request architectural shingles however, they will cost a little more but definitely worth it.
