reconditioning old wood

I have a cool old box that my grandfather made in 1920 to hold his books in University ( well before milk crates lol)

I washed it down yesterday and let it dry in the sun. It has a nice old worn look with not a lot of the original stain or finish let. I don't really want to sand it and restain and bring it back to looking "new" again. I just want to recondition ( the wood looks dried out) it and hopefully bring out the remaining stain and darken the wood a little bit.

What product would you recommend for this?
