Random CL side chair that I can't stop looking at

I'm loving this chair, even though it's a singleton. I could totally use it at my house if it's sturdy (seems sturdy just based on the design).

Here is a link that might be useful: side chair

$10.00!!! That's a burger and fries. Go for it.

I've sent a message, hopefully it's sturdy :-)

oh god I LOVE that! If I were in your area I would snag it in two seconds!

I even like the fabric on the seat! I'm still waiting for a response from the seller...

For $10 you can't go wrong....it's a cool chair.

Thanks! I keep checking my email, there was no other way to contact.

I would put this chair next to my front door for people who want to sit and take off/put on their shoes. On the narrow wallspace next to the door I have a vintage wall clock pocket-watch style w/a chain, brass, and I think this chair would be another interesting vintage item for the space (which currently is stacked with empty boxes because I'm TRYING to de-clutter).

Love the chair! I hope you get it. If not, I want it!

Good luck on that chair. I really like it!

If you love it, write again and offer more.

I regret a singleton I didn't buy for $40. So beautiful but I "didn't have a place for it."

Very nice! Hope you get it. Please keep us posted.

I contacted the seller again, but still no response. Something weird must be going on and I'm not sure I want to investigate further. They re-listed their post recently. So... :-( IMHO it isn't meant to be. Such a bummer!

One thing that seems to hold true about CL, though, it that there is always something else to come along eventually!

I have has this happen when the sellers emails are going into his spam and he is unaware.
Maybe that is the case here.

melle_sacto: I got a response from the seller. I sent you the contact number.

Omigosh, with craigslist, you never know if you'll get a response or not. I answered an ad for mirrors, calling the seller at the number she gave. I got a recording saying the number was "not in service". I e-mailed seller, saying I thought perhaps she had posted a wrong number. She called me back to say thanks, that she'd listed her number with one numeral off!

Good luck to you! That's a great chair.

The update is I haven't called on that chair...mainly because in the interim I tried one of our dining chairs in the space (our dining chairs are a similar style/size) and I wasn't sure it was working for me.

Our entry area is, to me at least, really bizarre. The front door and garage door are side by side, and there is a small coat closet perpendicular to the front door.

In past posts about my entry, I was advised to paint the garage door and closet door to match the walls (including the trim around them) which I think it a GREAT idea but I haven't found time to do it due to other projects.

Anyway, it's a space that my children play and I also use it as a sewing area. It feels like a waste of space, mainly it's a passage to other things. The wall that has my kids latest art projects, we added that when we remodeled the kitchen because it was totally open and I didn't like it. However, after living with that wall, not sure I love it, either. I'd like to make that space into a large closet, which it used to be (before we bought the house). The little display space, where we have the asian-themed sentimental junk, is remnant of the closet. I'd like that area to face the front door, but I'm not sure that we could just turn it 90 degrees ;-) If only things were that simple!

But all these changes cost time and money, and...I guess to make a long story short...I'm just not sure that chair will solve the problems -- and given that it's the same dimensions as our dining chairs it won't tuck into the sewing table, either.

You guys must think I'm a nut case!

If you want a seat between the doors, I agree something smaller than a dining chair. How about a vanity stool, perhaps an oval one? It's small enough to fit, designed to be sat on for just a moment, and the rounded edges make for "flow" around the seat. And it will echo the curves of that very cool pocket watch!

Had never considered something rounded, especially not a vanity stool...what a neat idea!

I found an old project out in the garage! I was going to paint it to match the wall, and upholster with a fun fabric. I completely forgot about this little bench.

It's handmade (translates to "rough-looking"), not too pretty right now, but I think it could work. My dad said I could have it because it fits under the sewing machine. My dad didn't make it, a friend of his did, but still the price is right ;-)

The top is hinged and there is a small storage space underneath.

*sigh* the chair is a much nicer style! Oh well, in our house function always takes precedent over form.
