Can you modify the headboard and footboard so it fits? If not then at least the headboard can be mounted to the wall and the bed pushed up against it...

If it's just a headboard and footboard, it seems like you should be able to jury rig it to the frame somehow. I wouldn't give up on that plan yet. any pics of the pieces so we can get an idea?

Annie, it probably could be jury rigged by someone who knows simple carpentry but DD was so disgusted with the hard work that she put into it only to find it didn't work that they already put it curb side.

I don't think she pinned the photos of it to Pinterest so I don't have any. It was a very simple head board and footboard that she painted a creamy antiqued white. She has run out of time for summer project as she is in admin at a local school district and is already back to work a few days a week.

I found an iron hb & fb on Overstock that I think would be perfect with free shipping. It is an iron color and leans more masculine in looks. I also found very nice ones at Ethan Allen when I bought new chairs for my breakfast area last year but they are costly when considering the short time that a child uses a twin bed. Also my experience with Ethan Allen was less than stellar to say the least.

holly-kay, it sounds like the bed may be a 3/4 size. When I was 16, a million years ago, I bought an antique spool bed that was that size. A local cabinet maker mounted wooden rails that he had made on the outside of the posts and it fits perfectly. He added a small 'band' of wood on the inside of the rails for the box spring to set on. That could be an inexpensive option for you that may allow you to use the bed you have.
