| Behr is having a sale ($5 off a gallon) through tomorrow. I am SO TIRED of my gold that I feel like breaking the Big Rule and getting this paint, even without actually testing it first.
Anyone have this color? What do you think?

| I believe my daughter used it as a trim color in her home and it's a nice shade of white, for a full wall, you may want to consider something that won't be so reflective of the light, like an ivory or cream white. |

| Yes, playing around with it more and seeing it change in the light throughout the day, I can see that you're right. It will just be too light. I am afraid of going so bold again! Now I'm looking at Stable Hay. It's so hard to pick. Guess I won't be able to take advantage of the sale! |
Popped Corn?
| | |
| lukkiirish . . .I just noticed in my samples that there is a Popped Corn which is JUST white and I could see it being used only for trim, not a wall. I was looking at Popcorn Ball. Is there any chance the Popped Corn was what your DD used? Silly how they use such similar names! |

| Oh, take your time, we've spent the past 2 and half years painting our house and can promise you, they have that sale a lot!!! At least every 4-6 weeks for one reason or another. The Stable Hay is a really nice color, although I bet it will be darker on your walls and maybe even yellow. That's what happened when I put Behr's Warm Muffin on my livingroom walls. On the swatch it's a soft carmelly brown color. Put it on my walls...it's yellow...golden yellow. So I put Raffia Cream on one wall to help soften and tone it down a little. I like it so much I'm thinking of painting two more walls with it and using the Warm Muffin as an accent wall. It's a beautiful creamy ivory off white. I hope you don't mind, but here's a couple of suggestions, first, you can find something in your home with a color that you like and have HD match the color for you, or what I did which was to purchase a color fan from Sherwin Williams (it was only 15-20 dollars and much cheaper than Behrs). I find a paint color in it I can use and then have the folks at HD duplicate it for me. Use a little caution when doing this, sometimes it doesn't match exactly after the first time so you may have to get them to tweek it. Sherwin Williams also color matches and sells miniture samples for 4-5 dollars that you can test on your walls before buying a gallon, big time saver and hugh help. I hope you'll let us know what you end up picking! Good Luck! |
popcorn ball vs popped corn YIKES!

| Yup...the Popped corn is what she used. The popcorn BALL is definately an easier color for the eyes! So glad you figured that out. It's a nice color. :c) |

| My neighbor used it on her kitchen ceiling and I believe as the base coat of a faux finish on the kitchen walls. I remember it being a kind of a light creamy yellowish color. |

| We're using Popped Corn for our trim color outside and in our kitchen. It is indeed a great trim color. |

| Anele, We used Stable Hay in our entire great room and kitchen area. It changes dramatically in different light, on some walls it looks like a buttery yellow, others more gold and then yet others more tan/beigey. We like it and it has worked well for us as a neutral backdrop for our color pallette of browns, greens and golds. I'm sure that the floor color would greatly impact how it reads, we have walnut... I'm not really sure how much this picture will help you since monitors don't all show colors the same but at least you'll be able to see what I mean about how the color changes under certain lighting conditions, this was taken towards the end of our build...

| Anele, I am considering cracked wheat or riviera sand immediately under popcorn ball for my oak kitchen. I know what you are going through, picking paint colors is so hard to do. I have been looking at paint for over six mo. for my kitchen!! I even bought two gal. of Behr during their 4th of July sale and don't like the color, a sage. It is too dark and can't really be made lighter. Generally, paint can be darkened but not lightened. Anyway, take your time and good luck! |

| I don't understand why it can't be lighter, even adding a glaze to it would lighten it up a bit. hmmm. I have oak cabinets too, with a yellowish honey shade to them, we used a soft yellow in the kitchen and it looks great. Those are both really pretty colors, but depending on the base color of the oak in your cabinets, they may or may not work. Why don't you take one of the doors to a BM store and let the decorator they have available for questions help you match them to a shade in the color family your hoping to use? |

| lukkiirish: I am SO glad you told me the sale is a regularly occurring event! I have a feeling that it is going to be much harder picking paint than I would have imagined! What do you think of SW paint? I like the idea that the samples are so readily available. I am going to look up that Warm Muffin, too-- it sounds lovely! karkoloke: Thank you for letting me know what it looks like! pbrisjar: Is there any chance you have a pic? Thank you! blackeyedpeas: The color looks wonderful in your space! Even from the picture, I can see what you mean about the color changing dramatically in the light. carolj: I was looking at those colors as well! Let me know what you pick! Thanks, everyone! |

| Sure, tons of them actually. This one shows the window trim and the ceiling "window" trim in popped corn. The wall color is violet shadow and the yellow on the ceiling is, IIRC, capri cream: We like the color so much (especially against the purple) that we did our painted backsplash in popped corn as well:
No pics of the outside, though. It is a very bright color that I think makes the purple "pop" nicely. Like its name suggests, it also has a bit of a warm, buttery yellow element to it. |
Here is a link that might be useful: many more pics here
