I truly appreciate the kind but candid ideas for my "arched doorway with display shelf" hallucination. The small voice of reason in my brain was screaming "NO!" but it was reassuring getting advice from people I respect.

I am a long term lurker; I knew I'd get good advice.

Now I have more "Living Room with many doors" questions.

The newly finished floor has cured and the carpenter should be here Monday to finish his work. All the photos show my livingroom at its worse. Bear with me.

Here is the doorway between the living room and kitchen. It was over nine feet wide. It will finish out about 65 inches wide. The smaller arched doorway, at the north end of the room, is 35" wide and opens into the small hallway. For now it is going to remain arched.

It is the door way on the left I had considered "arching."
