A dog's life

This room adjoins the kitchen. It is a small room with a captive watercloset. The room had a (70sish) wall sink which kept the door to the watercloset from opening fully. It was all painted yellow with and unfinished wood floor, and had a double bed and a cloth hanging "closet". The PO referred to it as the "maid's room" but I think a cigar smoker was banished there.

Anyway, we moved the sink to a totally different wall, and bought a larger, vintage one. The medicine cabinet is upcycled from old luggage, found on Etsy. We painted all surfaces white. The watercloset got a penny round tile floor and a vintage pendant. We put in a daybed (the Indonesian one from World Market; great value at $399). For color, we started with the dog's bed my girls picked out, and found a coordinating stripe. Those are on the faux romans (yes, valances!) over the wooden shutters.

Although we have taken to calling it the dog room, and she is fond of it, many guests chose it for its private half bath and proximity to everything!
