Listed on Berkshire Hathaway Fox Roach:

Formal, Regency style Living Room and Dining room. I like the scenic wallpaper and the papered jib door in the dining room (knob visible over the left-most dining chair)

Guesses on color?

Love the coffee table!! But then again, regency style is awesome. I wish grandeur would come back into style. I'm tired of everything being dumpy.

Why are the pictures in black and white? Seems odd for selling a house.

I made them black and white. What do you think the color scheme is?

I would have lusted for a home like that when I was young. I'm guessing pinks and burgundies, with some green.

My guess is dark green, gold, and orange :-)

It's so interesting that a classic design can seem garish depending on the color choices!

Seafoam green and forest green, with peach or possibly pink, err, dusty rose, accents. Especially the DR mural, definitely seafoam.

    pink and green

I'm going to go with pink and green as well. Which was what I though before reading anyone else's guesses.

First instinct tells us that the wallpaper must have a lot of green due to the ivy covered walls. The next thought is all the green would get too boring for Regency. It doesn't appear to be hot pink, and red would be too much, too. I think the colors used for carpet and drapery is Sapphire with gold accents.

I like to think/hope that it would be creams and gold but I don't think so.

I agree, but tend to call dusty rose, mauve. Touchs of yellow gold accents.
    Seafoam just seems so right!

I keep checking this thread because now I'm REALLY curious about the actual colors :-D

Hunter green/mauve.........maybe a touch of burgundy

    Navy/yellow

    Burgundy/seafoam(mint)

    Peach/navy

    Black/pink

Whatever the colors, it's time for an update.....of the decorating. Pal may not be ready to 'give'.

Is this what most people are thinking of? The classic Thibaut colorway?

Makes me wish I had saved all the Ethan Allen catalogs from the Early American to Regency, to their contemporary and eclectic phases. They were such richly beautiful catalogs and page after page filled with beautiful furnishings and accessories. This looks like it could have been taken from those pages.

    Or even more turquoise...

That is the trick, isn't it? Did the wallpaper come in sepia or gray, Pal?

  • ellendi

    Yellow and navy.
    Orâ¦light blue and navy.

Gotta be a multi color pastel. It actually looks familiar. The first home we built in the early 70's had a lot of wallpaper, and I must have looked thru hundreds of books. Pal doesn't mentioned the era, but it looks familiar to me.

I think voila is closest with sapphire for the carpet and drapes. It's a tight cobalt palette with a little lime. I think the pink bench is from another room.

  • crazybusytoo

    Wow, that's a serious blue rug. I wouldn't have guessed thatâ¦

    Love that dining room door!

  • Olychick

I love that palette! I could move in, even with the pink bench. Are the legs on the coffee table blue or is it a reflection of the carpet? Seriously beautiful.

  • Annie Deighnaugh

    Yow!

  • voila

Gah! It's a little blinding, isn't it? But then again, it IS Regency. I suppose it looks better in person.

One of my neighbors growing up had a formal (and seemingly completely unused) formal living room with a rug that color and and mirrored wall (the whole wall). It was a disturbing room, more from the mirrors and formality than the blue.

Well, that'll open your eyes in the morning. Does it fit the architecture of the house?

Darn, I was sure that mural was seafoam, but it turns out the reality is more garish than I had imagined, and I wasn't imagining it kindly.

Fun exercise and yes, the interior coordinates with the exterior.

I was going to guess red white and blue. Only thing I can think of that would have been worse than it actually is.

I think the mural is fine in the color it is. It's actually a grey blue, not like the cobalt at all.
