I would do the door and beams the dark and the rest of the house including trim the orangey brown (although, orangey brown isn't my fav stain color)

Actually, I really like the natural wood tone that it is now!

I think with the contemporary style of your home the trim should be part of the house color and not a contrast. I think the dark door and dark beams will really look great as the accents.

Thanks, caroleoh... There's a link to the cedar color below. There are only 3 color choices, and I think the cedar is best.

I like the natural wood color, too, and considered staining it with a clear finish. But then I read that the pigment provides more protection, so I decided to go with a color.
