I would definitely put a bit up on the walls. I was in love with that color until I threw it in my hallway. It came of much bluer than I was expecting. It's a great color! Just not with my hall.

i think RP would look nice with reddish brown hardwood floors...we have a reddish brown mantle against it and it looks great! it is a beigey gray tho so not a big change from browns, beiges and tans!!

we have the RP in our sitting room with S exposure and there is not even a hint of blue on our walls to be seen- tho is taupey in certain lights...

Our floors are heart pine--- a reddish brown color. I used Revere Pewter +50% in the den. It looks great with creamy white trim.

Here is a picture of the walls right after I painted. The lighting is better in this shot, and you can see a large area of the wood floor. The RP at +50% is a deeper gray than the original formula, which was too pale for me.

I hope you can tell that the room at that stage was a total mess. It doesn't look like that now! ;-)

The paint pro at Benjamin Moore took her time adding the right percentage of pigment to darken the shade to +50%. No, it never looked blue or purple. It is what I would call a true neutral gray with a warm feel. Of course, paint shows differently depending on how much natural light there is in your room.

I have always purchased a sample pot and painted a large poster board, which can be moved around in the room to test the true color of the paint within the space. It's a whole lot cheaper than getting stuck with gallons you won't use.
