| My wife bought an old trunk at a yard sale and we're trying it out as a coffee table. It is a bit taller than we're used to (about 20 inches). Does it look too tall?

I think it looks great. I know someone else who used a trunk the same way.

This height can actually be very convenient, no bending and reaching.

I think it looks great. Your room is a room of large proportions - high ceilings, oversized furniture, tall brick fireplace and the trunk coffee table does a good job of holding its own in the room.

I think it looks great too. I had a very similar one years ago that my Dad gave me, I painted it a beige-y off white and the metal trim a dark rusty color, one of my first DIY projects after getting married, I just adored that trunk. lol

Thank you for the responses thus far. It is good to hear that the $10 we spent on the trunk didn't go to waste =P.

Included delivery too :). Bought it a yard sale down the street from our home. The seller lugged it to our house (as I was not around).

Looks great. I have used a blanket chest like that and I really liked the height. I think you will find it very convenient!
