too much white???

am planning on redoing kitchen counter tops and backsplash in Formica calacutta marble. my question..would it be too much of the "marble look" to do both?
its a small kitchen in a condo, cabinets are white..floor is sorta dark walnut color laminate. my taste runs to very contemporary and minimalist.
lots of white i know, but then i could use splashes of color in accessories.

Yes -- add color with accessories (easily changed or switched for different seasons or reasons)

No, I think this is in line with your taste. The slab marble countertop and matching backsplash are often done in real marble as well, like this Mick de Giulio kitchen

i think it would depend on the subtlety of the veining... i am not familiar with calacatta formica, but have looked at some of the faux marble tiles and have seen a lot of variations- some with dark veining, some with minimal veining, etc...
i think it would look great if the pattern was more subtle to have it on both the counter and backsplash, but it might be too much if the veining is plentiful and/or dark...

It's of the 180 FX series, so no repeat per sheet although oddly enough their current online view shows an obvious repeat.
