It helps to know what the stain is.

You may have to dye over the stain instead of trying to remove it. Much of the leather type furniture being sold today isn't actually leather, it's bonded leather or even fabric. If it's bonded, scrubbing it could cause the thin layer of leather to come off or start peeling. If it's a pen mark or something like that I think that dyeing over it is the way to go but it's it's really large and depending on where it is you may have to have just that part reupholstered.
