walkin: I don't have a lot of experience with any of them. I ordered fabric from designdiva, but had to send it back because the color just wasn't right, and the design was not as sharply defined in person as on the website. I also have to pay a 15% restocking fee.

I haven't ordered anything from fabricguru.

I did order some fabric from the following seller (see link) This was a really good experience. The owner is a designer. I was torn between two different fabrics and couldn't decide. I sent her a photo of the chair and the room and she actually recommended the less expensive fabric! She was also helpful in terms of educating me about durability, etc.

Designerfabrics, on ebay, tends to have a really nice selection, but I haven't ordered anything from them.

In general, the fabric I liked was better priced than in the mortar-and-brick stores.

If you're in the Triangle area of NC, then Not Just Linens is a locally-owned place that sells all fabrics at $9/yd, except silks which are still pretty inexpensive. All first quality nice stuff, many brand names, very helpful staff. They have 2 locations, one in Durham and one in Southern Pines. I've never searched for fabric online because I've always found the perfect one there.

Fabrics.com. I've ordered from them many times and have been pleased. They have great sales too.
