I would think that hanging the drapes closer to the windows near the fireplace makes sense. Hanging them closer together would create a more vertical line which would make the ceilings look taller. You also have less wall space there.

Your house is going to have such a smart look, yet comfortable and cozy at the same time. Can't wait to see more!

I agree with jjam, I would go tall and not to wide to heighten the feel of the room. Again, your room is just perfect! Congrats!

Do you need drapes? It seems that the TV will also be in the way of drapes. Could you just have relaxed Roman blinds or bamboo blinds? And then just add art work.

On the other hand, you probably want to introduce more white?

I love the color! I believe in hanging them as high as you can and just as wide as need be. The slenderness of the narrow but tall drapes will give the appearance of a taller ceiling.
