I'd prefer to see a light golden fabric to compliment the blue tones in the room.

I'm not sure I'd like black and white and I know you said no blue...or burgundy, but what about something like this this? Maybe it's non-boring.

I agree with yayagal. I have a similar rug and used some gold in my room. Perhaps a stripe like Annie has suggested with a golden background versus the beige that she shows.
