Mixing trim with paint and stain

Is it okay to intermix stain and paint on woodwork inside the house. New construction. Just ordered the windows and went with white interior. I love the look of natural stain on the doors and trim. Would it be ok to mix the two? I haven't ordered the doors and trim yet but I thought I might stain the doors and trim (pine) a natural color.

Yes, it's okay. My house has white windows & trim but most of the doors are pine. Front door is mahogany and french doors are white.

If you stain them and you don't like the look, you can easily paint them. Not true the other way. I have stained trim and painted doors and, of course, I love the look.

Thanks guys. Looking at pictures on houzz, you really don't see this too often. It's usually all white or all stained. Me not not being the most energetic housekeeper, I'm afraid the white doors and trim will really show the dust!
