I know it is taboo but it really has improved the flow of my small house with lots of doorways and windows to place a small tv above my fireplace. I just placed it on its stand and we have a rf remote and the receiver is actually keep under one window seat and a dvd player under the other seat. All cables are tacked flush with the mantel and wall and barely noticable.Here is a not so great pic.

I use an old buffet (sorry for the terrible cell phone pic). We removed the second drawer for electronics, I'd like to find a decorative screen cover.

I rarely turn our TV(s) on and don't like to see them when not in use.

Great room television is hidden behind custom sliding panels ( two go left, one right). DVD player, TV equipment, etc is in niche with shutter door.

MBR TV is in an antique armoire that was in LR of our last home. It also holds sweaters and extra bedding.

Main level guest room.

We do have a large flat screen that is not enclosed in the lower level den. I don't have a photograph to share but it's on a pine chest.

Here's my home-made corner wall mount. Small room, so wanted everything off the floor and tidy. Told kids it was a real-life application of why they need to learn the Pythagorean theorem and trig!
