Quick fix WT ideas?

I dropped the ball on ordering a WT for our master bath, and we start living in our new house this weekend. Oops. I need to find something quickly to hang over the window for privacy.

I replicated the look of this bathroom almost exactly, so our tub is centered under the window as shown, but we don't have a window in the shower area. All along I've thought I'd prefer white cafe curtains (instead of the blinds pictured) to hang over the bottom half of our 80" wide double hung windows, but I don't think they'll offer enough privacy unless I find a thick material.

I need to run to a couple stores tomorrow and pick up whatever I can find or throw a towel up temporarily because unfortunately we have limited stores that sell WTs in my city -- 2 custom shops and 4 big box stores but no BBB, for example. And then I'll also have to figure out my long-term plan.

Thoughts or ideas?

Get tension rods and get some curtains to gather on the rods...or you can buy some flat sheets and thread the rod through the hem. You can even buy a tablecloth and get the clip rings and hang it off the tension rods.

I don't know how nice the temporary solution needs to look. If looks aren't an issue, you can stick up most anything with painters tape that will be easily removable. Most hardware store carry the repositionable privacy film that you put up with soapy water, another easy fix.

Thank you, both. A privacy film on the lower windows combined with a cafe curtain and tension rod sounds like a really simple temporary fix.

Now on to the long-term plan ...

A roll of wax paper from the grocery store will solve the immediate problem - cut in strips and tape the wax paper to the glass.

White cafe curtains will give you the privacy you need. I took sheer white fabric triple the width of the window and shirred it on a rod. We have gone outside at night to with the lights on to test it and you see only vague shadows inside.

Thanks for the tip, graywings. I'm surprised that shirring white sheer curtains works for privacy. That would be great and may be our long-term answer.

Our painters still need to do some exterior work, so the wax paper might be our temporary fix on the upper windows while they're working on ladders outside our bathroom.

graywings - It's good you mention an important detail about your sheer white cafe curtains....the fabric is : triple width of the window. That gives it the fullness and all the folds. Nice pretty picture that shows the folds/fullness.
