How would you price this old chair on CL?

It's been in our family for 90 years and wasn't bought new. The chair seat & back is leather with horsehide padding. The back of the chair folds down to make a table. I found one exactly like it but in worse condition on ebay a year or so ago and it was priced over $1500 but didn't sell. I found another one today listed at an antique site for $1395. I also found a couple of chair/table combos that are different but same idea. The bigger one that is about the same size but just wood seat is $599. I would like to actually sell it, not just have similar asking prices, and I didn't find any in the completed auctions on ebay.

Also, any ideas how to list it so people who are looking for something unusual can find it? If I list it as chair table, every dining set will come up in a search.

I used *Mission style chair converts to table* in my search and got the one that you saw at Smith Antiques. They call theirs "Mission Style Game Table/Converts to Chair".

I think it is important to mention the Mission styling that it has, in your title, and also mention "antique" or the exact age of the piece if you know it.

The one you have looks almost identical to the one at Smiths. Yours looks to be in better condition than theirs too.

Ask on the Antiques forum. There are some well informed members who might have the correct term to describe it.

It is lovely and very interesting.

Thank you both. Yes, that's the one dilly dally. I think ours is in better shape too, and I don't think it was made to be a game table, but who knows. I can't find anything about it.

I never think of the antiques forum, I didn't think it was very active. I'll try that.
