I need some input/ideas with how to hang my curtains up.
We have had crown moulding put up and our windows trimmed out, walls painted etc.
I have purchased sheers and I'm about to purchase blackout curtains. We need blackouts because my husband occasionally works nights (hence the temporary garbage bags!)

I wish I had thought about this before we had crown moulding as I would have incorporated the crown moulding into a valance for curtains on a double traverse rod.

Does anyone think that adding a crown moulding valance now that is wider than the width of the windows would look strange? I want to be able to push the blackout curtains beyond the trim of the window to let in maximum light when we can.
My other option would be a double rod but as I've come to learn, that would still let in light at the top.
We can't use inset mount blinds/roman shades as the handles for opening the window are in the way.
