It wouldn't matter what transport co. you used if it is not pkg.properly.

Seek out a professional crate/pkg company to prepare the item to ship.

Try uship.com. I believe they specialize in that type of shipping. WTBS, I would want the control of how it is handled and packaged especially if they are costly and rare items.

I forgot to mention Navis Pack and Ship. Antique and large items are crated and packed. This was a business I was considering going into and I heard good things about them, but keep in mind, it is second hand info.

My mom hired the local ups store to come and crate and ship my great grandmother's secretary with a curved glass front and my handmade childhood dollhouse to me. Both arrived with no damage. I don't know what it cost exactly, but I know it was substantially cheaper than the moving company estimate.
