Try Cree EcoSmart LEDs. We have a fair amount of recessed lighting replaced all the floods in our house with them (except the minis in my vent hood) -- from 60 to 90 watts and they are now something like 7 or 13 watt. The ones we got are bulb and trim in one which worked great since some of our trim rings were getting old -- some starting to yellow or get brittle. I don't know why, but they were much cheaper at one Home Depot store than the other, so we bought them all at that one store. They look better, are cheaper to use and they don't heat up a room like the halogens or incandescent bulbs do. Try them.
