Are you tired of tan/brown or is it the accents (or lack thereof) that you are bored with?

Which color makes you smile? It sort of seems like you are forcing yourself to go in a new direction with the gray, but that the cream is what calls to you.

With HW flooring you can change things up a lot It will be so different than your carpeting. A fantastic rug makes all the difference, even with tans and browns!

I'd chose the cream-it'd have a lot more versatility than the gray. While I love gray-I am afraid it's very trendy right now-and it might not work in a few years. Plus you're more lmited to wall color if you go with gray-it could read blue, purple or on the brown side of things depending on paint and floor colors. The cream leather lends itself to a wide open palate.

As for a color scheme.....do you have a piece of art, pillows, curtain fabric, etc to serve as a jumping off point? I find it helps to have an inspiration piece...for example in a bedroom it might be a new comfortor set...then you decorate around it.

If you are planning hardwood next year, can you find a rug now that you love and use it to pick colors from?

If this is a sofa that will be used every day, you need to be aware that cream colored leather will stain if you all wear blue jeans regularly.
