Anyone ordered from Art.com or Allposters.com?

There is a particular giclee print I have wanted for a long time. I'd love to get it done on canvas but it would cost quite a bit (around $600). So I am considering ordering it in a giclee print from allposters or art.com (same company different names). They have 30% off until midnight. I just googled them, and found A LOT of negative reviews, and some that even said the company sold their credit card info to third parties. So now I just don't know. I also am looking for something that looks really nice, not just a cheap framed poster. Is that possible with this company? Anyone have any experience as to their quality? Should I just search for it locally at frame shops, etc? TIA.

Do you have a photo or drawing of your own that you like? I've linked to a place that will print it up for you. I haven't used them, but they sound okay to me.

I love art.com they are really great. Descriptions of the products are accurate, great option for matting and framing and their offerings are very diverse. I have ordered from them in the past and was very happy with my purchases.

I've ordered from both and I've never been disappointed. The prints are very good quality along with the frames. I like how I can try out frames and mats on the prints before I make a purchase.

I have ordered prints from art.com and have been very happy with them. I haven't had anything framed, but the prints were fine as was the customer service.

I just ordered a large print from art.com at Christmas. It arrived quickly, in very good condition, and looks great. As stated earlier, they have large selection, lots of mat and frame options. My only problem (my mistake) is that I spent so much time picking the right mat and frame that I forgot to select the right glass. Next time, I'll upgrade and select one of the anti-glare ones. I've ordered giclees from Ballards and also been happy. I think art.com has more unique selections. If you missed their % off sale, be patient. They rerun them constantly.

bcgcsmom (and others)--which glass do you recommend? I was thinking of going with the anti-glare (middle option--the cheapest is regular acrylic, anti-glare in the middle, and UV anti-glare the most expensive). Would I be ok with that one or should I choose the UV one? Thanks for the helpful opinions. |

If your picture will get any direct sunlight at all, spring for the UV. Sunlight damages any image it hits...I have a tragic story about three once-fine Hiroshiges that I inherited from my aunt, but not before she had her framer paste them to the not acid-free backing board without a mat, and then hung them in the sun for 25 years. Sigh...
