I think you could do almost anything, tho I'm not familiar with wood-look steel doors.

If you are getting a new door, though, i d try to get a storm door without the cross member if you can, or none at all

I think a lot depends on whether or not you like to have the front door open when you're home. The storm door gives me the impression you do since it has a screen on it.

If you still plan to use your storm door or replace it with another that has a screen, then I wouldn't do glass for the wood door.

We leave our door open all the time when we're home and have a storm door with a hidden screen. When the front door is closed, the screen is up, and it doesn't take away from the beauty of the wood door.

So basically it all depends on the screen door! lol

IMO wood goes with everything so you really can't go wrong with that "material", so to speak.

Your house is a curious mix of Colonial (house) and Victorian (decorative wood trim). I think to tie the Victorian flair in a little better you might want to look at a screen door in somewhat of a Victorian, or farm, style.

I love your house. I have seen those steel doors where the wood grain has rubbed off around the handles.. Maybe they were cheap ones, but I would inquire about warrantees on that.

yea i think a wooden door will look much better then this.I think you should go for it.
