Bathroom Countertop

I posted this on the Bathroom forum and got a few responses but hope to get more. We are planning on replacing our laminate countertop in our master bath. It is 60" long. The problem is that we use aerosol hairspray (I know, bad us!) and it leaves an overspray that is difficult to remove. I am wondering how that will do on granite or if we should go with something like quartz, or another manmade type material. I love my kitchen granite and have no problems cleaning it except for the hard water build up around the faucets. Some on the Bathroom Forum say that water is absorbed by the granite, others say the overspray won't be a problem to remove just with water, some say no - go with quartz. Now, I don't know what to do. Suggestions and reasons please.
