A few days ago I found this color in a pic that was linked through one of your posts. Bit the bullet today and had Sherwin Williams mix it up for me, as had the other poster. I will have to say it's a lovely soft & subtle shade of yellow - no green undertones at all. Also, love the nice large sizes of tester paint SW mixes up. Anyone looking for a nice soft yellow really should consider this one.
I'm wanting to get a color from one brand mixed in another brand and wonder how is the best way to do that? I'd love to see your RH butter pics if you have any. Thanks!
At this time I only have a sample board painted. We hope to have the painter come in this week as the entire LR and DR are empty (refinished floors) and this is the perfect time to paint. Our furniture is stuffed in every nook and cranny throughout the rest of the house. (We have 2 grandfather clocks in the kitchen!) I was going to do it myself but on Friday the doc said I need to start chemo again right away so will be doing that Tuesday. Darn shame as I feel pretty good right now but who knows how I'll feel this time next week. Anyway, it'll take some time to cover all this dark red. I'll take before and after pics to post as things progress. I'm so excited to finally be lightening up this place. Just a note, I had Home Depot try to match another color once and they just couldn't get it right. Sherwin Williams did a bang-up job and the large sample was only $5.60 with tax.

Thanks so much for the inspiration pictures--I agree! That's a beautiful yellow--absolutely love it. I've had the same experience at HD recently tried to get a yellow mixed using the little sample card from another brand and it looked pretty good at the store, but when I actually painted the little sample can I bought compared to the actual color, it just was different and I didn't use the color.
So sorry about your health issues--will keep you in my prayers. You're an inspiration to keep making things pretty during this time and so glad you have someone to paint it and bring in the sunshine. Keep us posted on the progess--know it'll be beautiful! Hugs to you.
Such a yummy yellow! Yellow is my favorite color, though I admit, it is hard to find a just-right yellow paint shade. RH Butter is perfect!
Sujafr, I didn't use a sample card for matching (didn't have one). I just asked the clerk at SW if he could match RH Butter and he looked it up in his computer to get the formula. Of course, that's exactly what they did at HD, but the color came out so muddy, I couldn't use it at all - AFTER I had 5 gallons mixed! Don't know what went wrong there. And, thanks so much for your good wishes. This will be my second go-around after finishing the first round early December. My hair has finally grown to about 1/2 inch and darn it, I'll probably lose it again! The doc is mixing up a new 'cocktail' this time, so maybe it won't make me as sick. Will keep you posted. Thanks so much for your prayers and hugs! ;-)
Thanks so much for the tip on color matches, and I'll be looking for a SW store nearby. Will definitely be hoping this round is better than your last.
