Grand Designs - TV show

A few weeks ago, I found out about a UK show called Grand Designs. It follows both unique new house builds and restorations. I've watched a bunch of episodes and am finding it so interesting, I wanted to mention it here. It's very different from HGTV-type shows. The host freely shares his often snarky opinions, which is entertaining. The building and restoration regulations are so different, particularly for historic buildings. The builds and renos don't always wrap up tidily- some are followed over the course of many years and are delayed by unusual weather, the recession, and owners' major life events.

While it isn't about decorating, it is about design and I thought many of you here might enjoy it. There are tons of episodes available on You Tube.

It's been on since 1999, so this probably isn't news to many of you. If you have been watching it, share your favorite episode! I really liked the new flint farmhouse, the lifeboat station conversion, and the 1920s cinema.
