I had a wrought iron bed powder coated for $100. Bear in mind that this was in a small town and it took the guy 6 months to get it back to me. But it turned out great. He sandblasted the rust first and then powder coated it.

No experience on powder coating but I thought I would offer up an alternative. I repainted an indoor chandelier with metal paint 7 years ago, still looks great. The chandelier that I wanted only came in a cream antique finish, I needed either black or rubbed bronze. I ended up painting mine with three coats of paint - red for some depth, then black and last I ragged on a thinner coat of bronze. Final look is more black than bronze perfect for my kitchen. That said the metal paint I used on our vintage outdoor patio set at about the same time as the chandelier is not wearing well, I plan to have the set powder coated before summer. Probably would go straight for the powder on anything used outdoors.

We used to own a small manufacturing plant and had many items that we manufactured powder coated. If you go to a small business it won't be all that expensive. About 10 years ago we had a double antique washstand with wash tubs powder coated to use as planters and I think it was a touch over $200.
