| I'm trying to decide what dining table suits my dining area better. The dining area is open to the kitchen and living room and it is 10'-4" wide x 11'-1" long. I think a square table would work better and found a counter height table I like (54" x 54" - link attached)
I'm not sure if it will work well with traditional furniture I have in the living room (http://s1144.photobucket.com/albums/o492/thrifty92/). I also like this table height set: http://www.valuecitynj.com/Item.aspx?ItemID=-398118983&ItemNum=D551-35 %2b6x03 Any thoughts / suggestions? |
Here is a link that might be useful: Counter height table

| That is very pretty. Now a question...are you tall? We have bar stools at our kitchen bar and when I sit on them too long, my legs go to sleep...even with my feet on the bottom bar (mine are metal with padded seats). I find bar height tables/chairs very pretty but not comfy for sitting around talking with coffee/dessert etc. |

| I'm not tall :(. I was thinking of that too. I tried the furniture at the store for a few minutes and it was comfortable, I don't know how it would be when seating for a long period... |
|
| I'm short and I hate counter height and bar height tables. It's hard for me to get up onto the chair and after a while my feet go to sleep. |

| Ditto to the above. I'm never comfortable on them for very long. |

| I can't open the link to your living room furniture :( |
|
| Thanks for the feedback. That's one of my worries: comfort. these chairs are 42" H. Are yours the same height? Here is the link to the photos: http://s1144.photobucket.com/albums/o492/thrifty92/ |

| I would say 'no' if it is to be your only dining table. I'm medium height- 5'5"- and hate sitting at counter height tables and chairs in restaurants. Always find I am struggling to stay up on those chairs even with the bottom bar to put my feet on. Very uncomfortable. |

| Oh man, other than the color that set is pretty much like one we got for our home. Our dining area also opens to the kitchen and living room, it's 11 x 10 so similar in size as well. I returned it. The height over powered the space and I hated the way it looked. Our set was white, and I would imagine the darker set would close in the room even more. I would urge you to really rethink it. |

| Another vote for a regular height table. I am not short, but I have never sat at a counter height table that I liked; they are just not comfortable. I see them all the time on craigslist and I suspect that they are not a good long term investment. Diane |

| Thank you all for taking time to respond. After all your feedback, I think I'll go for a regular height table. |
