| I am getting ready to start looking for paint colors for my Family/kitchen but would really appreciate some help. I also need decor color ideas that will bring color into the more neautral pallete. When you walk into my house you enter the living room/entrway with a good view of our dining room. As you walk in to the right there is a hallway and an archway that leads into the family area. My living room is Bleeker Beige, the entryway is Manchester Tan, and my dining room is Weimaraner (ceiling painted Tranquility). As you can see I have oak and tile but we will eventually be replacing the tile with darker hardwood flooring, matching the banister to the wood flooring. The built in will be replaced with a white one and someday my kitchen will be replaced with a white one. So with my paint colors I am not too concerned with it needing to work with the oak..It is a cloudy day but here are a few pictures of the view when you walk in. My family room gets a decent amount of light, not overwhelming but decent. Some colors I have been floating around are colors in the sage family like Saybrook Sage, Oyster Bay, or Silver Sage. I also thought going with the softer blue like Wythe Blue, Palladian Blue (guest bedroom color), wedgewood gray etc.. What would you all suggest? I know I need some color in here!
Thank you! Here are some pictures, it is cloudy out but it gives you an idea of the views. I am also including pictures of the kitchen and familyroom. These are pictures from the listing because these areas are a bit messy today to pose for pictures. All 3 of my kids have been hit with the flu..

| This is not a specific answer to your question but just wanted to mention that the tile that you have now plays very well with the warm and cool colors you have in your house. It looks great with the oak and great with the grey carpeting and helps tie those two together. This is also not what you asked, and I'm not usually a fan of grey cabinets, but have you considered painting your cabinets grey? I think in your house, and with those floors, if you keep them, grey cabinets would look rather smashing. As for the specific colors you mention I think they are all possibilities. Anything in the green and blue family would be very pretty. There is no substitute for trying some samplers on large paper and taping the paper to the wall to see how it looks with all your other materials. When you say you want more neutral decor...what have you got in mind? Everything looks pretty neutral now, or is paintable (like the entertainment center). |

| Thank you, actually I want to bring in more color since my paint colors are on the neutral side. I agree that the colors seem to be working with what I have currently (tile, wood, etc.) but I have been picking colors that will go with darker wood floors, and wood, and white kitchen cabinets. Those major changes ie: flooring and kitchen are a bit of a ways away but I couldn't live with the white walls. I don't mind the more neutral paint colors but I do need some pops of color. I really like color and desire to have more color showing. For instance my craft room is Palladian Blue with orange pops of color and I love it. I just put up samples of most of those colors I mentioned except Wythe Blue. I think most would work but wanted others ideas too! Thanks again! |

| Ah, I misunderstood you, I thought you said you wanted more neutral! right...gosh...well your palette is wide open. the only itemt that really has color is your rug in your family room which would paint you to the green family. But if that rug doesn't need to stay then your choices are vast! I totally understand what you mean about enjoying color; I'm the same way. Can you post some pics of your room with the paint samples up? Because of the grey carpet I'm assuming blue colors are going to be more complimentary... |

| It is beige but it is old and stained. It will eventually be replace when we put the hardwood flooring in.. I will come back in a couple of days with the pictures of the samples up. Thank you! |
