Outlets in Hardwood Floor?

How do folks solve the open concept with hardwood flooring outlet placement problem? I'm not sure I can pinpoint furniture placement yet...anyone use cordless lamps?
I'm trying to think ahead before a concrete slab is poured for an addition.

The short answer is that you can pretty much take a stab at the furniture placement and get the floor outlets in.

I didn't finalize them until I had selected furniture. But you needn't be exact. You will want to be exact before you select/cut and area rug, though.
