Mahogany and Oak Interior Doors

My wife and I will hopefully be building a home next spring and I am now trying to purchase some interior doors. I will try to buy them this year, stain and finish them this summer. I was just curious if anyone had purchased Masonite brand or any other wood verneer door and could give me their opinion on how they like them. I am thinking I would like mahogany/poplar downstairs and 6 panel oak upstairs. I have contacted a building material store for pricing and also have looked at Nick's Building Supplies online. Any help on brand and function of your doors would be appreciated for this newbie. Thanks in advance.

I haven't but I'd be interested in the feedback that you get. I'm currently sourcing out 1 more solid wood door for the last closet upstairs. I keep combing Craigs List which is where I got the last solid wood 6 panel door but 36x80 solid wood panel doors are few and far between on CL here. This wek I started checking out stores for the last door.

What is Nicks Building Supplies?

I think you may get a better response on the remodeling forum,;though from a decor point of view I lean towards using the same style doors and trim throughout. I could see doing mahogany downstairs and painted white up, but not mixing mahogany and oak doors in same house.

My friend really likes this company for her mahogany doors. I was going to get some but didn't do that upgrade. I have slabs and am jealous. A quality door really makes a difference. If you e-mail the contact on the site they will get back to you quickly.

Here is a link that might be useful: Iroko Door Co.
