This is how I did ours when we first hung it on the wall:

I'm not really crazy about stuff next to the TV. It looks okay when it's off, but when I'm watching it, I don't want peripheral distractions. And sometimes what's on TV can be highly incongruent with what's on the walls, if you catch my drift. :)

We plan to eventually have ours framed and covered with a screen that looks like a mirror when it is not in use. A bit pricey so that project is waiting for other higher priority things first, so I don't have any pictures to share. But I thought I would mention the possibility.

I think the flat screen is what it is and being a solid black when it's off makes it look fine. If I have a party or company, I'll put on a slide show of vacation pics which our guests have enjoyed...

Crl, Unless the technology is changed, the TVs-behind-mirrors are not very good in anything but the smallest size screens; think hotel bathrooms.

If you've heard differently, Id be curious.

Neighbors had their TV behind a two way mirror. Off, it looked great. On, the picture was not very good.
