I just looked it up - a twin comforter usually measures 68 x 86, whereas a queen comforter measures 86 x 86. So you have 18" extra width, which is 9" on each side. That's in addition to the usual amount of overhang, which is about 15" on each side. I guess whether it will work will depend on the thickness of the mattress and the height of the bed frame (if they're 24" in total, the queen comforter will reach to the floor on both sides - if they're less than 24", the queen comforter be too big, if they're more than 24", it might work).

It'll be way, way, way, way too big.

You can try selling the queen comforter on CL for less than you bought it for, take a bit of a loss, and try and find some nice twin comforters there. I got two great comforters and a wonderful coverlet for my twin beds on CL.

I have a double size comforter on a twin bed. It looks more like a bedspread in that it comes pretty far down on each side. A queen would be much too big. Sorry!
